Still unsure if Lux VPN is right for you? Perhaps you will find the answers to any questions you might have below.
If your question is not answered in this section, you can always contact us.

How does Lux VPN work?

In a nutshell, Lux VPN creates an encrypted connection between your device and the internet. This connection, or tunnel, is a direct link from you to the internet through our servers. Your ISP, Amazon.com, Inc., your local authorities, and even your country's government will have no insight into what websites you visit or what you download. This happens as soon as you connect to a Lux VPN server.

We have tons of servers around the world, allowing you to change your virtual location. You can access streaming services, unblock social media platforms, bypass office and school network restrictions, and even shop for better online deals!

If you're new to VPNs, we have a 24/7 Customer Support team to walk you through any questions.

Is Lux VPN secure?

Yes! Lux VPN uses unbreakable 256-bit AES encryption to protect your data. This stops cybercriminals, governments, your ISP, advertisers, and other third parties from spying on what you do online. The US government uses the same encryption standard to safeguard classified information.

The automatic Kill Switch keeps your real IP address hidden even if your internet connection drops. And because your traffic runs through an encrypted tunnel the moment you connect, airport lounges, hotels, libraries, and cafe Wi-Fi are just as safe as your home network. That protection is built into how the VPN works, not a separate feature you have to turn on.

Will Lux VPN slow down my internet connection?

There's always a slight speed drop when you connect to a VPN due to the encryption process. Any VPN company telling you otherwise isn't telling you the truth.

The good news is we designed Lux VPN specifically to prevent speed loss. Our servers can easily handle 4K streaming without buffering or lag. We also invested in the latest hardware and best-in-class protocols (WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IKEv2), so you can enjoy lightning-fast connections.

Even more good news! Lux VPN can improve your overall speed if you're suffering from ISP content-based throttling.

Where is Lux VPN located?

Lux VPN is incorporated in the Seychelles, deliberately outside the US, UK, and EU. Companies there can be compelled by court order or government request to hand over data they hold, and those countries belong to intelligence-sharing alliances like Five Eyes, Nine Eyes, and Fourteen Eyes, which share what their agencies collect. The Seychelles has no law requiring us to log our users' VPN activity.

The rest of the business follows the same reasoning: our banking relationships are based in Hong Kong, and our billing system and backups are hosted in Iceland, both chosen because they sit outside those same alliances too.

Visit our About Us page for the full breakdown of why we structured things this way.

How many devices can I protect with one subscription?

You can use Lux VPN on up to 10 devices at once.

You can download our custom app on Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Linux. Visit our Software Download Page to find the right software for your device.

You don't need to be tech-savvy to use Lux VPN either. Our VPN apps are designed to be intuitive with optimized servers available for streaming, torrenting, and gaming. You can easily connect to the best available server in just one click.

Is Lux VPN free?

Lux VPN isn't free, but we do offer a 15-day money-back guarantee. It gives you plenty of time to try every feature at no risk to you. If you change your mind, open a support ticket from your account (Support in the client area) within 15 days of purchase for a full refund. If you can't sign in, use the contact page and include your account number.

As strong privacy advocates, we're always wary about the hidden cost of free VPNs. Free VPNs typically have a limited number of overloaded servers, resulting in slow speeds and bandwidth caps. Your binge-watching streaming session can be easily ruined. Even worse, many free VPNs make money by secretly selling your data to advertisers and other third parties.

In comparison, Lux VPN has a global server network, military-grade encryption, ultra-fast speeds, and unlimited bandwidth. We don't sell your data, and the VPN keeps no activity logs.

Is Lux VPN legal?

Yes, in most parts of the world. Individual people, governments, and corporations use VPNs to safeguard sensitive information and thwart cyber attacks every day.

However, in countries with highly restrictive internet laws, you're only allowed to use government-approved VPNs.

Why should I pay for a VPN?

It's hard for a free VPN to match the features and service of a quality paid provider. With free VPNs, you are more likely to experience slow connections bogged down by a flood of users on suboptimal networks, no customer support, weak security, and a small number of VPN server locations to choose from.

Some free VPN services even log and sell your information to advertisers!

As a premium VPN provider, Lux VPN can offer connections optimized for speed, security, and stability, as well as a wide selection of 80+ server locations around the world. Plus, our dedicated Support Team is available 24/7 to help.

What payment methods does Lux VPN support?

Card payments (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Cash App, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are processed by our payment partner, Fungies. Bitcoin, USDT, Paysafecard, bank transfer, and other methods are processed by Payssion. We also accept cash by mail for the 1-year plan. We don't accept PayPal.

We do not receive or store your card number. Card payments show on your bank or card statement as "FUNGIES * TETRYX" rather than Lux VPN.

How can I pay with cash?

Mail your payment to our Switzerland location. Because mail-in payments take time to process, cash is only accepted for the 1-year plan: $60 USD or 55 EUR. Please allow 21+ days for payment to reflect on your account.

Mailing cash is risky. User assumes all risk for lost or misdelivered mail.

Snail-mail instructions are available on your account dashboard. You must register your account before sending payment.
