VPN Software

Find your device below to get started.

Android

Most non-Apple phones and tablets run Android. If you have a smartphone and it isn't an iPhone, this is almost certainly you.

iOS

iPhones and iPads run iOS. Install from the App Store, sign in, and iOS will ask you once to allow the VPN configuration. That prompt is normal.

Windows

If your laptop or desktop is a PC, it almost certainly runs Windows. The Windows app is also the one that includes the Kill Switch.

macOS

Apple laptops and desktops run macOS. Same three steps as everywhere else: install, sign in, connect.

  Download  |  Setup steps

Linux

Linux is an open source operating system with dozens of distributions. If the word doesn't already mean something to you, you're not running it.

Firestick and Android TV

Android TV is built into some televisions and into most streaming sticks and boxes that plug into a spare HDMI port.

Device not on the list? Routers, NAS boxes, and anything else that speaks OpenVPN, WireGuard, or IKEv2 can connect using manual configuration. Email support@luxvpn.co and we'll send you the config files and walk you through it.

Step by step

Pick your platform. Every one of these takes under five minutes.

Setting up Lux VPN on Windows

  1. Download the installer

Go to the software page and download the Windows installer. Your browser may warn you about running downloaded programs. That warning appears for every installer on the internet.

  2. Run it and approve the Windows prompt

Double-click the file you downloaded. Windows will ask whether you want to allow the app to make changes to your device. Choose Yes. A VPN needs this permission to create the network adapter it routes your traffic through.

  3. Let it install the network driver

Partway through, Windows may ask permission to install a network adapter or driver. Approve it. Without that adapter there's nothing for the tunnel to run over.

  4. Sign in

Open Lux VPN and enter your username and password.

  5. Pick a server and connect

Choose a location from the list and hit connect. If you just want the fastest option, pick something geographically near you. Every location is included in your plan, so there's nothing locked off.

  6. Turn on the Kill Switch

In settings, enable the Kill Switch. If the VPN connection ever drops, it cuts your internet rather than quietly letting your traffic out unprotected. Windows is the only platform where this is available, so it's worth doing here.

Check it worked: open our IP checker. It should show the VPN server's location and ISP, not yours.
